The age-old recipe of forgotten pastries!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 2 1/4 cups flour (300 g)
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter (250 g)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup water (100 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the filling:

  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • Caraway seeds

Instructions:

  1. Mix 1 cup of flour (100 g) with 1 cup of butter (250 g). Place the dough in the fridge.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1 2/3 cups of flour (200 g), the egg yolk, water, vinegar, and salt to form a dough. Let it rest in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  3. Follow the order and method of folding the dough. It’s very important!
  4. Allow the dough to rest in the fridge for 15 minutes at each step.
  5. Prepare a mixture with 1 egg, salt, and caraway seeds.
  6. Preheat the oven to 446°F (230°C). Bake for 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • Respect the resting time of the dough in the fridge between each step for a better consistency.
  • Follow the order and method of folding the dough carefully for an optimal result.
  • Sprinkle the caraway seeds before baking for a more intense aroma.
