Ingredients:
- 500g puff pastry
- 2 apples
- 100g apricot jam
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
- Peel and thinly slice the apples.
- Roll out the puff pastry using a rolling pin.
- Using a pastry cutter, create 10 cm diameter discs from the pastry.
- Spread about a teaspoon of apricot jam in the center of each pastry disc.
- Place a slice of apple on top of the jam.
- Moisten the edges of the discs with a little water, then fold them to form the shape of turnovers.
- Seal the edges by gently pressing with your fingers, then make a few small incisions with a knife.
- Mix the milk and egg, lightly beat with a fork. Use this mixture to brush the surface of the turnovers.
- Use a knife to create decorative patterns, being careful not to cut through the puff pastry.
- Make a few holes in the bottom of each turnover with a toothpick to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then bake at 175 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes in a convection oven.
Tips:
- You can sprinkle a little sugar on top of the turnovers before baking for added sweetness and a golden appearance.
- Adjust the amount of jam and apple slices according to your taste preferences.
- Serve these sweet apple tarts warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.
