Enhance Broom Lifespan with Nighttime Salt Method:
Needed Materials:
Broom Hot water Distilled white vinegar Salt Bucket or tub
Instructions:
- Fill a bucket or tub with hot water, ensuring it’s hot enough to dissolve the vinegar and salt effectively.
- Pour approximately 1 cup of distilled white vinegar into the hot water. Precision isn’t necessary; an estimate suffices.
- Add roughly half a cup of salt to the water-vinegar blend. Salt aids in stiffening the bristles, prolonging the broom’s life.
- Completely submerge the broom in the mixture, ensuring all bristles are covered. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for better results.
- After soaking, shake the broom to dislodge any loose dirt and debris.
- Air dry the broom, allowing any remaining moisture to flow down to the bristle tips. Hanging it upside down can expedite drying.
- Once dry, the broom should be rejuvenated and have an extended lifespan due to the vinegar and salt treatment.
