  • Oyster sauce
  • Sugar
  • Baking soda
  • Cornstarch
  • Cooking oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Rice wine
  • Ground black pepper

Instructions:

    • Cut the green onions in half, separating the white and green parts.
    • Finely mince the white and green parts into two-inch sections.
    • Mince the garlic.
    • Slice the yellow onion into wide strips.
    • Slice the beef against the grain into medium-thick pieces.

    • Add a bit of cooking oil and sesame oil to the mix.
  3. Cooking:

    • Stir-fry the white parts of the green onions and the yellow onion until they become tender, then remove them from the pan.
    • Season lightly with sugar and salt while cooking.
    • In the same pan, sear the beef without stirring initially until it browns slightly on the bottom, then flip the pieces and add the minced garlic.
    • Stir-fry until the beef is about 70% cooked, then add rice wine and let it cook off.
    • Incorporate the dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a bit of water, allowing it to slightly thicken.
    • Add ground black pepper and reintroduce the reserved onions. Mix briefly.

Tips:

  • Avoid overcooking the onions to retain their crunchy texture.
  • The sauce will naturally thicken; adjust the water amount for desired consistency.
  • For enhanced flavor, add the black pepper towards the end of cooking.
  • Serve this delicious dish with rice or noodles for a complete and flavorful meal.
