Sewing Purse Bag Organizer. DIY Pattern & Tutorial. Make a sewing accessories bag that is easy to carry and use. When you open the bag, a smiling cat sticks out of it.
Since I only work with photos, I will inform you in advance that I cannot provide real patterns.
Here is a large photo with a pattern. I think it can be printed and applied.
Look at the size of the pattern and think about how to draw it. It is not difficult to draw symmetrically.
This is a suitable bag size that can be deployed anytime and anywhere without any load.
This is a sewing bag with a cat motif that will give you a pleasant sewing time, as if you were with a cat.
The organizer is small, but has a good capacity, so you can carefully put the tools you need for sewing.
Material:
Upper: linen fabric with a pattern – 40*12cm – 1 sheet
Basic linen fabric of dark blue color – 40 * 25 cm – 1 pc.
Lining: Cotton fabric quilted in a cage – 40*35cm -1 pc.
Adhesive Cotton (2~4 oz) : 40*35 cm – 1 sheet
Cover fabric: brown linen fabric – 30*25cm – 2 sheets
Different pieces of fabric for different pockets.
Additional materials:
various labels, felt paper, leather strap, 2 snap buttons, 1 wooden button, lace, 2 mini cat’s eye buttons, loop and loop mechanism, 2 20cm elastic bands, etc.
Bag Sewing process
1) We make an external case and put it inside the case
2) We make the lining of the pouch,
It is divided into three stages: finishing the pouch.
Sewing the outer cover.
Draw a pattern of the cat motif on thick paper and cut it out. ((The size of the pattern is indicated along the line and does not include seam allowances)
By drawing the pattern on adhesive cotton wool, cut it with scissors. (Follow the finished line and do not take into account the allowances for the seams)
Place the pattern on the fabric, circle the finished line and leave a seam allowance (1 cm allowance).
Cut out the outside and lining.
Tip: When transferring a pattern with a pattern to a fabric, use a dyed fabric (the front and back sides of the fabric have the same pattern).
This is convenient because there is no need to separate the front and back.
Place the cut cotton on the lining and reward with an iron to attach the cotton to the lining. (So that the cotton does not melt and does not stick to the heat of the iron, put a thin piece of fabric on top of the cotton and reward it with an iron)
Sewing the outer part.
Fold the cut-off outer part of the fabric face to face and secure it by stitching.
Fold the outer fabric and lining with the sides facing each other.
Sew the organizer around the entire circumference along the finished line, except for the hole for the window.
After stitching, cut the seam allowances by 0.5 cm so that they retain their shape well when turned over.
Stitch the entire circumference of the organizer 0.3 cm from the finished stitch. Please fix the tail at this time.
Making the lining
Cut the outer fabric and lining of the bag to fit.
In addition, freely cut out various pockets and labels to place on the pouch according to your taste and the necessary tools.
(In my case, the label was made by drawing on a craft fabric with a pigment (waterproof) pen. This way too… hehe)
One side is treated with an overlock or double seam (entrance).
Also note that the pouch folds into a previously created motif,
After that, we fold the center of the bag in half, based on the fold line.
Various pockets and decorative labels are freely arranged according to the user’s use, and then sewn on.
Sew the finished lining of the pouch to the base and fix it.
Fasten the elastic band by attaching it to the base, taking into account the size of the sewing coil.
Fasten the button and lace to create a clasp.
Use mini buttons or embroidery threads to depict cat’s eyes and mouth.
Fasten the snap button on the bag lid.
Attach the eyelets in the appropriate places on the lid.
Attach the strap and finish 🙂
